ASSURANT™ Pro Suite 4.12 Release Announcement

With the ASSURANT™ Suite of software tools, you will feel secure knowing your cyber vulnerabilities have been addressed and you have the documentation to prove it.

ASSURANT™ Pro Suite 4.12 Release Announcement

KBSI is excited to announce the release of the ASSURANT™ PRO Suite v4.12, which offers enhanced features and improved performance.

In today’s complex threat landscape, understanding potential vulnerabilities and attack vectors is crucial for proactive cybersecurity. The ASSURANT™ PRO Suite provides a powerful new cyber tool designed to significantly enhance your modeling, attack path analysis, and cyber tabletop risk assessments.

Solution Highlights:

  • Visual Modeling: Create detailed and accurate representations of your network infrastructure, applications, and data flows. Visualize complex systems and identify critical dependencies.
  • Enhance Attack Path Analysis: Automatically discover and analyze potential attack paths, revealing hidden vulnerabilities and identifying critical control weaknesses. Prioritize remediation efforts based on real-world risk.
  • Streamline Cyber Tabletop Risk Assessments: Facilitate engaging and effective tabletop exercises. Generate realistic scenarios, simulate attack progressions, and evaluate the effectiveness of your incident response plans.
  • Compliance Reporting:  Automatically generate compliance reports such at Authority to Operate and enhance Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) reducing approval times

ASSURANT™ PRO Suite v4.12 enhancements and new features:

  • SysML Enhancements:

One of the key improvements was to enhance the round-trip capabilities of ASSURANT™ PRO and other modeling tools like Cameo. To achieve this, the SysML Export and Import features within ASSURANT™ PRO underwent significant revisions. Users can now create custom mappings between ASSURANT™ PRO cyber concepts and SysML Stereotypes, with the ability to store these mappings directly on a node. This allows users to define exceptions to default mapping rules as needed. Additionally, ASSURANT™ PRO Suite introduced a “Package Picker” window within the SysML import function, enabling users to select specific packages and components for import into the ASSURANT™ PRO Suite.

  • Software Bill-of-Materials (SBOM) Enhancements:

To address the need for recording and tracking embedded software within a system, the ASSURANT™ PRO team has made significant strides in analyzing SBOMs to identify potential vulnerabilities. This effort has introduced two new import options: one allows an SBOM to be imported directly into the model at the top level, while the other converts a software project file into an SBOM and integrates it into the model. Additionally, SBOMs stored on individual nodes can now be scanned for possible vulnerabilities. ASSURANT™ PRO has also introduced an SBOM analyzer feature within “Model Software Navigation,” enabling the calculation of a risk score for any node containing an SBOM and associated vulnerabilities.

  • Enterprise IT Capabilities:

With the addition of Enterprise IT entities, ASSURANT™ PRO users are able to model an Enterprise system in a structured way. Users are able to track instance data such as IP Address, Hostname, and Serial Number, throughout the model by assigning the data to an Enterprise IT node. Users can efficiently create, modify, or remove instance data records within their model using the Model Properties Excel export feature.

  • Cyber Data Schema (CDS) Interoperability:

To promote seamless interoperability with the ASSURANT™ PRO suite, users can conduct a round-trip import and export of the Cyber Data Schema (CDS). Serving as a foundational standard for capturing cyber knowledge, the CDS is imported and exported by ASSURANT™ PRO in JSON format, enabling efficient data sharing across multiple applications.
